APRIL 10TH - SOUTH AMERICAN WEEKEND 2010
In the last development on 2 February · End of week South American lighthouses, organized by the Radio Club Bahia Blanca DX Group. A group composed of amateur members and guests of the Radio Club Miramar attended the event activating the Breakwater Beacon Port Quequén Previous ARG - Breakwater Beacon 119 and Back of Puerto Quequén ARG-122.
Participants were organized into two groups each of which realizaó activation of one of the beacons, broadcasting from the ARG-119 Alejandro LU4DCY / D, Ignacio LU9EI / D and Mauritius LU8EHV / D, while from the ARG-122 Eduardo did LU8ATM / D, Jorge LU5DR / W, Ricardo LU2AGQ / D and Eduardo LW7EDH / D.
The first group reached the mark on Thursday afternoon 25 to organizing themselves in putting together my first of the tents that SEVIRI radio room and rest. Then he raised the mast of 8 meters and climbed dipole cut for 80 and 40 meter bands. Measurements and adjustments were made to start calling at 3.680 MHz as the first correspondent Fernando LU3HR friend from Rio Cuarto, Córdoba. After 124 contacts and to have shared the meal is terminated for this day the transmission and the group retired.
On Friday morning resumed the activation from the station and LU4DCY LU8EHV Mobile (father and son respectively) at the foot of the beacon until about noon comes another group that begins to activate the ARG-122 breaking around 13 pm to join the rest and share a barbecue.
In a continuing basis until after midnight from both stations aired on Saturday were repeated including roasted activities noon to midnight resuspended to rest and start Sunday, the last day of activation where both stations made their last contact and a shared lunch after we start the return to the city of Miramar, located about 100 km from the activated beacons.
The activity ends on Friday at the club, where dinner by the Steering Committee meeting with friends and discussed the event and the anecdotes of this.
